Common mistakes to avoid in yoga

Yoga as most people already know comes with a lot of benefits. However, there are some mistakes which a lot of people make in yoga. Such mistakes may not make a person get the best out of yoga, so it is important to avoid such mistakes. In this article, we will talk about some of these common mistakes.

Doing too much too soon
This is a problem common with newbies in yoga. The problem with most newbies is that they want to perfect their poses immediately forgetting that yoga is a lifelong practice. As a beginner in yoga, you don't have to go too hard on yourself or try doing too much.

Pushing yourself too hard will make you burn out easily, or can even cause injuries. You need to give yourself some time to grow in yoga. You have to understand that there are some poses that takes time before you can get them right. So, avoid doing too much, and give yourself time to grow in yoga.

Holding your breath
A lot of people hold their breath while trying to focus during a pose, but this is not good. Holding your breath will build up stress in you, and can even cause wobbly limbs since oxygen is not properly circulated. So, avoid holding your breath during yoga, breath steadily.

Comparing yourself to others
Simply because somebody else can perform a pose perfectly doesn't mean you should do same, you need to understand that everybody is quite different. Also, you need to understand that some people are have spent years in yoga which is why they can perform certain poses perfectly. So, avoid comparing yourself with other people in yoga.
